BELLINGHAM, Wash. – WTA and its driver’s union local are teaming up again for the “Warm Hearts, Warm Hands” campaign to collect warm clothing for the homeless.
Amalgamated Transit Union local president Mark Lowry said they’re asking the public to donate new or “like new” items, especially socks, men’s jackets, sleeping bags and blankets.
Donations can be brought to the WTA stations at Cordata or Railroad Avenue.
Lowry said they’re not asking for donations to be made on-board busses, but they won’t turn any down.
This is the third year they’re holding the campaign and Lowry said it keeps growing.
Donations will be distributed through several local non-profits.
