Come graduation time, Ferndale’s Windward High School will shut its doors and no longer be an option for students.
The Ferndale School District said due to low enrollment, this is the alternative high school’s last year.
The district said staff is guaranteed continued employment and it will talk with them on preferential future positions.
As for the students, several new and existing alternative options are available, as well as transitioning to Ferndale High School or enrolling into running start if appropriate.
