FERNDALE, Wash. – Ferndale police are on the lookout for two would-be car thieves.

Lieutenant Bill Hatchett says two men attempted to steal an employee’s car from the Ferndale Grocery Outlet parking lot at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 13th.

He says the car had a kill switch that stopped the men from taking it, but they left what appeared to be skeleton keys, used in burglaries, in the employee’s car.

Hatchet says the men left the store in a dark blue 1999 Chevy Lumina with expired North Dakota plates.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ferndale PD Detective Pike at (360) 483-5725.
