MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – The Mount Vernon man accused in the brutal murder of his landlord in 2012 will undergo yet another competency evaluation before going to trial.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports Western State Hospital determined Justin Morgan Daly was capable of re-entering society, but not whether he’s competent to stand trial.

The case over Louis Auriemma’s bludgeoning death has been delayed multiple times as Daly’s mental competency was repeatedly called into question.

An evaluator is set to visit Daly in the Skagit County jail within the next few weeks to determine his competency.
