SEATTLE, Wash. — The Department of Transportation christened the state’s newest ferry, Suquamish.
The naming marks the final stage of construction for the newest ferry for Vigor’s Harbor Island Shipyard.
The 144-car ferry will start its trials in 2018 and will start carrying passengers in early fall.
Suquamish is the fourth Olympic Class vessel to replace the midcentury-era ferries.
