SEATTLE – Last year, it’s estimated 10,000 people attended Seattle’s annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the city is prepped for another big year.

A march is planned for 12:30, they have rallies set up, an Opportunity Fair with workshops and organizers are serving a shared meal at Garfield High School.

Eddie Wright Jr., the co-founder of MLK Celebration Committee, told KING-5 they want to carry on Dr. King’s inspiration. “It’s good to remember Dr. King, and President Trump has given us more reason to get more engaged. But we want to give people some hope on Tuesday when they wake up,” Wright said.

Events are free to attend. You can watch KING-5’s entire interview with Eddie Wright Jr. here.
