WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Nooksack River is expected to breach flood stage in parts of Whatcom County early next week.
The National Weather Service shows the river cresting above 18 feet near Ferndale around Monday.
The threat of flooding gets worse going west through the county starting around the south fork at Saxon Bridge near Acme.
With continued rain in the forecast, urban flooding is also a possibility.
The Weather Service notes that the weather pattern is still evolving so people should prepare in case conditions get worse.
