The Bellingham Police Department will offer a second volunteer academy.
Starting Feb. 21, the academy will meet every Wednesday evening for six weeks, and each meeting will cover different training topics.
Bellingham’s two police volunteer groups consist of two different teams with specific functions.
The Bellingham Neighbors Together (BNT) deters crime by educating citizens and reporting suspicious activity. While, the Bellingham Citizen Patrol’s (BCP) emphasis is on abandoned vehicle enforcement, vacation house checks and disabled parking violations.
