OLYMPIA, Wash. — If you’re planning on applying for your first passport or replacing a lost one, do it before April to save yourself some money.

The Passport Execution Fee will increase from the current $25 to $35 starting April 2.

Children under 16, first time applicants and people who reapply after reporting a stolen or lost passport will pay the extra $10.

Adults eligible to renew their passport by mail will not have to pay the added fee.
