Good news on graduation rates from Bellingham Public Schools.
Deputy Superintendent Mike Copland said the overall graduation rate increased from 79-percent in 2010 to 87-percent in 2016.
Copeland said dropout rates have decreased significantly and they’ve seen similar results with Hispanic and low income students.
Copeland credits the distract’s teachers, the Family Engagement Team which reaches out especially to Hispanic families, and the distract’s One Schoolhouse Approach that emphasizes equal opportunities for all students.
