BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham Police arrested an 18 year old transient after he tried to steal a charity event’s cash box.
Police spokesman Lt. Don Almer says a group rented out the Eagles Lodge on North Forest Street for the event Friday night.
He says Christian Dillard walked in, grabbed the cash box with over $750 inside and ran.
Some people at the event grabbed and held him until officers arrived.
Dillard struggled with them in an attempt to get away and struggled with officers as they handcuffed him.
Dillard faces charges of robbery, theft and resisting arrest.
