OLYMPIA, Wash. — The FDA and the state are investigating a Tukwila-based raw pet food manufacturer after a series of recalls and complaints related to salmonella and listeria.
The agency says Arrow Reliance/Darwin’s Natural delivers straight to customers and that the company has only notified customers of the recalls, not the public.
The recalls are not made apparent on the company’s website.
Since October 2016, Darwin’s Natural has had four recalls and six complaints, including at least one confirmed pet death.
The FDA says this is a serious concern, especially because pets can pass salmonella to humans, even if they don’t look sick.
