BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham Police arrested a woman and are working to identify her after they say she tried to get fraudulent cash advances using a fake ID.

Lieutenant Danette Beckley says officers responded to the West Edge Credit Union on James Street Wednesday afternoon when the credit union got a fraud alert regarding a woman trying to get cash advances.

She was gone before police got there.

Just over an hour later officers responded to the same call at Heritage Bank on York Street and arrested the woman who called herself Moewana Alice Singh-Perrira.

Beckley says they couldn’t confirm her identity and are awaiting fingerprint results from the jail.
