MOUNT BAKER, Wash. — Avalanche danger is “considerable,” according to the Northwest Avalanche Center as another storm is expected to hit the Cascades, and Mount Baker is forecasting more than a foot of new snow.

The Mount Baker Ski Area is reminding skiers to stay out of closed areas and is urging anyone going out of bounds to be smart, prepared and have a partner.

A Seattle man was recently rescued from Mount Baker while back-country skiing, but since November three men have gone missing on the mountain and haven’t been found.
