LYMAN, Wash. — After flooding on the Skagit River in November eroded even more land away in the town of Lyman, the U-S Army Corps of Engineers announced it will spend $40,000 on a study to fix the problem.

The Corps says the flood plain study will look at long-term solutions for the city, however it says the program does not allow the Corps to get into detailed plans, provide on-the-ground aid or help in construction.

In its press release, the Corps says it expects the study to be completed by fall.
