BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham businessman has been acquitted of charges of rape of a teenage baby sitter in 2015.
The Bellingham Herald reports Tyler Eugene Ryan was found not guilty of 2nd degree rape by forcible compulsion and two other charges Friday.
Ryan was reported as saying that justice was served and he noted the importance of keeping an open mind when accusations are made until the full story can be told.
Expert witnesses were reported as saying the victim’s relating of her story with an inconsistent timeline and multiple attempts at disclosure was consistent with sexual abuse of teenagers.
