BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham man was arrested custody on charges of hit and run, DUI, and attempting to elude an officer after an incident late Thursday night.

Police Lieutenant Don Almer says 23- year old Alex Andrukov led two Bellingham police cars on a high-speed chase after they attempted to pull him over on the 200 block of East Magnolia street  for driving without headlights on around midnight Thursday night.

Andrukov allegedly sped off, eventually hitting the Boston Pizza retaining wall at Bellis Fair Mall, after leading police on a chase and eventually exiting I-5.

After crashing his car, he fled the scene and was later arrested.
