BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Two convicted felons are facing attempted murder charges after deputies say they fired shots at a home on Bennett Drive Friday night.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies say multiple nearby residents and witnesses reported hearing gunshots at the home, including a 17-year-old who said he was almost hit.

Those inside the home told deputies a friend had come there during a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Gene Parker, who they say had repeatedly called the home and threatened them, just before the shooting.

Witnesses also identified a second possible suspect in the shooting, Robert Chase.

Deputies say a search of Chase’s home on Cagey Road turned up several guns, including one that had been fired recently.

They arrested Chase and Parker under charges of 1st degree attempted murder and unlawful possession of a firearm, since both men are felons.
