BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Four to five hundred students and some faculty members took part in a protest against gun violence on the Western Washington University campus Wednesday.
As people stepped out of the crowd in Red Square to lay down to pose for a die-in, organizers with WWU Students Against Gun Violence spoke about what they see as a need for action from lawmakers.
They urged people to contact their representatives in Olympia and Washington D.C., including the White House.
The League of Women Voters was there urging people to register to vote.
Protesters also said they were in solidarity with protesters at Whatcom Community College, some local high schools and protesters all across the nation on the four week anniversary of the shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
