BELLINGHAM, Wash. – After the death of a snowmobiler on in an avalanche on Mount Baker Saturday, the community he loved is honoring him and providing support to his family.
The group Northwest Glacier Cruisers announced Wednesday on Facebook that they would donate proceeds from a raffle held during their Mount Baker Ladies Ride to a memorial fund for Luke Rohde’s family.
Other tributes to Luke include videos from Alpine Assassins, memorial stickers with proceeds benefiting his family and another person auctioning off beacons with all the proceeds also going to his family.
Luke is the seventh person to die in an avalanche in the state this season.
