FERNDALE, Wash. – The Whatcom County Health Department has advised the Ferndale School District it has confirmed two cases of pertussis (whooping cough) in District students.
The district advised on its Facebook page that one of the students attends Ferndale High School.
The other infected student attends Horizon Middle School.
In a letter sent to district families, officials said persons who were within 3 feet of the infected students for more than one hour that they could possibly start showing symptoms as late as the end of March.
