MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — The Burlington teen convicted of killing a 16-year-old member of a rival gang for dating his sister was sentenced to fifteen years in custody on Tuesday.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports Cristian Alexander Quijas, now 16, will serve in juvenile detention until he’s 21, then serve the remainder of his time in prison.

Quijas pleaded guilty as an adult in May for the 2017 shooting of Angel Estrada, which the prosecutor called, “an execution.”
