WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Contributions to a fund for those impacted by November flooding in Whatcom now totals $1.6 million.
The Whatcom Community Foundation Resilience Fund has distributed $1.2 million of those donations in relief.
The Sheriff’s Department Division of Emergency Management has released that and other information about the recovery.
The agency says 147 people requested shelter since November 14th and 98 remain out of their homes.
There have been reports of damage to almost 1900 structures.
Closures continue on some county roads including Birch Bay Lynden Road which was washed out at California Creek.

Agencies committed to recovery will continue operating into 2022.
