BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Organizers at the Opportunity Council have officially called off their 2020 Oktoberfest event scheduled for late September.
A spokesperson for the organization says the decision comes partly due to the health department’s recommendation to cancel all large gatherings in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Also, she says they are realizing the pandemic will have a significant impact on the local breweries and sponsors behind the popular event.
