BELLINGHAM, WA – (KGMI.com) Positions have changed in two close races in Whatcom County with the latest vote count Wednesday afternoon.

Incumbent Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood is now behind challenger Kim Lund.

She’s pulled ahead 53-47%.

A difference of 1521 votes now separates them

Blaine Police Chief Donnell “Tank” Tanksley now leads the race for Whatcom County Sheriff.

He’s 2,689 votes ahead of Undersheriff Doug Chadwick.

Jace Cotton has expanded his lead over Russ Whidbee for the Bellingham City Council At-Large position.

Incumbent County Councilmember Kathy Kershner has fallen a little further behind challenger Mark Stremler in another tight race.

Vote counts have changed somewhat in other races, but percentages haven’t changed drastically.
