BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Whatcom County Council has a long and varied list to choose from when it picks a new member next month.
Twenty nine people applied for the open seat by yesterday’s deadline.
The Bellingham Herald reports applicants include former council members Seth Fleetwood and Kathy Kershner, and former Lummi Nation chairman Timothy Ballew.
November’s election left an at-large seat on the council open after current at-large council member Todd Donovan was elected to the new District 2 position.
