OLYMPIA, Wash. — Wednesday, June 20th is expected to be the hottest day of the year before cooler air comes in on Thursday.
Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz urges people to douse their campfires, don’t park in dry grass and tighten tow chains so they don’t drag on roadways to prevent sparking a new wildfire.
Firefighting crews and equipment have been stationed around the state to provide a quick response should any fires develop.
Four out of five wildfires in Washington are started by humans.
