OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Early returns in a race that will determine the balance of power in Olympia show a Democrat leading the Republican.
Both candidates for the special election in the 45th District advanced to the November ballot.
Republicans currently hold a one-seat advantage in the State Senate.
A win in this race would give Democrats complete control of the legislature and the governor’s office.
