BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A man pepper-sprayed a worker and smashed the glass of a display at a Bellis Fair Mall kiosk before getting away with about $50,000 worth of gold chains Tuesday night.
“The clerk was doing some vacuuming [and] bent over, said Bellingham Police Lt. Mike Johnston.
“When the clerk stood up, they were pepper sprayed in the neck and face in an attempt to blind them,” Johnson said.

“The suspect then took a sock which had a rock in it, and smashed the top of the counter top…”
Johnston says the man was wearing ski mask and goggles when he robbed Gold-N-Time Jewelry.
