Accused Cascade Mall shooter commits suicide

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – The accused Cascade Mall shooter has committed suicide in jail.

KOMO News reports the Skagit County Prosecutors Office has confirmed that Arcan Chetin was found dead in his cell last evening, apparently from hanging.

Chetin was accused of entering the Macy’s store in the Burlington mall last September 23rd and opening fire with a rifle, killing five people before fleeing the scene.

He was captured 30 hours later in Oak Harbor.

His father says he struggled with mental health issues.
