BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A 21-year-old year old Bellingham man could face 12 years in prison after police say he assaulted a man and stole his hat last Friday night.
The Bellingham Herald reported Owen Dean Allen would have been charged with a misdemeanor theft charge, but because he was accused of punching the other man in the face Allen was charged with a Class A felony, among other charges.
The hat was valued at $25.
