BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham’s acid ball has made it to its new home.
Crews moved the giant metal sphere from where it sat at the former Georgia Pacific site on Bellingham’s waterfront to its new place as the center piece of Waypoint Park near the restored Granary Building and next to the Whatcom Waterway.
Once part of GP’s digester system, the 32 foot diameter ball will be covered with reflective glass beads and illuminated with LED lighting as a beacon for the city.
