ACME, Wash. – An Acme man was arrested after shooting at a passing car and attempting to ram a Washington State Patrol vehicle.

WSP Trooper Anthony Reese said that the suspect had pulled over on State Route 9 near Strand Road on Saturday morning, September 17th.

When another driver attempted to get around the parked pickup truck, the suspect shot at them.

A bullet struck the windshield, sending glass shards into the driver’s eye.

Another witness followed the suspect as he got back in his truck and drove northbound to his residence.

WSP Troopers kept an eye on the suspect as he got in a second vehicle and began driving north again.

When they attempted to pull him over, the suspect briefly led troopers on a pursuit before attempting to ram his car into a patrol vehicle.

The suspect got out of the car and charged at troopers with his gun.

However, he quickly surrendered once all the troopers on scene pointed their rifles at him.

52-year-old Patrick Jarvis was taken into custody and remains at the Whatcom County Jail on $350,000 bail.
