OLYMPIA, Wash. — Attorney General Bob Ferguson filed another lawsuit against the Trump Administration Tuesday, this time challenging the EPA’s decision to repeal the Obama-era Clean Power Plan and replace it with what it calls the Affordable Clean Energy rule.
Ferguson has joined with 22 states to challenge the EPA’s decision, arguing that the repeal and replacement is a violation of the Clean Air Act and would result in increased air pollution.
Ferguson says the rule neither promotes clean energy production nor does it cut carbon pollution from power plants and other sources.
The Trump Administration published the new rule in July.
Ferguson has now filed 45 lawsuits against the Trump Administration.
