OLYMPIA, Wash. — Another eight corporate fast-food chains agreed to end no-poach practices nationwide amid an investigation by the Washington State Attorney General.
AG Bob Ferguson says these companies must join fifteen others by removing language in contracts that prevent employees from leaving to work for a competing company.
Researchers found that under no-poach clauses, corporations don’t have to compete for workers or offer competitive wages.
A&W, Burger King, Denny’s, Papa John’s, Popeyes, and Pizza Hut are among the latest chains affected.
The AG’s office is still investigating Baskin Robbins, Domino’s, Quiznos and two others for these practices.
