OLYMPIA, Wash. — If President Trump tries to alter the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, Washington’s Attorney General promises an immediate lawsuit.

The president claims in an interview that he has the power to take away the citizenship birthright from children born to undocumented immigrants by executive order.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson says in a tweet that he doesn’t have that authority and, “If he tries, we’ll immediately take him to court.”

Ferguson’s office has filed 32 lawsuits against Trump Administration policies.
