BLAINE, Wash. — Border Patrol agents arrested a U.S. airman who attempted to cross the Canadian border to evade sexual misconduct charges.
The Northern Light reports 20-year-old Mitchell Wilson had a warrant out for his arrest issued by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan for criminal sexual misconduct of an incapacitated victim and another by the U.S. Marshal’s Office for desertion.
Soon after those warrants were issued in early February, the suspect apparently fled to the U.S./Canada border where Border Patrol agents intercepted him and turned him over to the Blaine Police Department.
Officers booked Wilson into the Whatcom County Jail on February 11.
