BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County may be drenched this week. The National Weather Service reports the rain will taper down Monday, then a slow-moving front will bring lots of rain Tuesday.
A lighter system is expected to come through Wednesday night and into Thursday.
The Nooksack River is expected to get near flood stage in the Acme area and above flood stage in Ferndale on Friday.
Meanwhile, we can expect some more gusty winds, but not as bad as Sunday. The Bellingham Airport recorded gusts of 51 mph at one point Sunday, and many people had their power knocked out.
About 160 residents were without power in the Alabama Hill neighborhood as of Monday morning. Puget Sound Energy said crews hoped to have power back on by 10:30 Monday morning, and that the outages were caused by trees.
