SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – A 16-year-old boy from Alger was killed and three other people, including a 2-year-old girl, were injured in a single vehicle crash on I-5 Friday evening.

The State Patrol reports the Dodge Durango was traveling south in the left lane near the Stillaguamish River Bridge just after 5 p.m. when the driver tried to merge to the right.

She swerved to avoid another vehicle and lost control, hitting the barrier and rolling the SUV several times.

Marcus J. Kenny wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was killed.

The driver, 35-year-old Andromeda N. Pizzarro of Alger, a male passenger from Bellingham and the young girl were injured and taken to a hospital in Everett.

Two other 2-year-old girls and a 3-year-old boy were properly retrained in the vehicle and weren’t hurt.

Troopers say drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
