SEATTLE, Wash. – Amazon has fired two employees who were tied to the first unionization of one of the company’s facilities.
KING 5 reports that Amazon confirms it fired Mat Cusick and Tristan Dutchin, but says the terminations had nothing to do with their union activities.
Both are members and organizers of the Amazon Labor Union in Staten Island, New York.
Cusick says he was let go after he was informed that he stayed on COVID-related leave too long and had abandoned his job.
Amazon says Dutchin was fired for failing to meet productivity goals.
