SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) – A Seattle nonprofit that converts unused buildings into temporary shelters will have a permanent home at Amazon’s new headquarters.
Marty Hartman with Mary’s Place tells KING it’s a “gift of love and hope.”
“We have a home to bring 65 family members inside, for as long as we need it. An incredible gift from Amazon,” Hartman says.
Amazon will donate more than 47,000 square feet in the downtown building for a shelter for homeless women, children and families.
Construction is scheduled to start this fall and be finished in 2020.
