DUPONT, Wash. — The National Transportation Safety Board opens a two day hearing into December’s deadly Amtrak Cascades derailment Tuesday.
KOMO reports the hearing in Washington D.C. will look into what caused the derailment that killed three people and injured dozens.
A preliminary investigation found the train derailed near DuPont on its first run on a new route while going twice the speed limit through a curve.
