Anacortes hears comments on proposed plastic bag ban

ANACORTES, Wash. — More than 25 Washington cities, including Bellingham, have banned single-use plastic bags, and now Anacortes is considering the move.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports an ordinance presented Monday to the Anacortes City Council proposed a ban on plastic bags used for transport or carry-out purchases.

Bellingham’s single-use plastic bag ban took effect in 2012.
