BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A fire, positive COVID tests, and disruption of city services are among factors that are increasing the urgency to relocate homeless campers from Bellingham City Hall and the library lawn.
A spokesperson for Mayor Seth Fleetwood says they’ve been actively working to increase shelter capacity and find a site and operator for an alternative site.
She says it is an evolving situation and no decision has been made, but there will be an announcement “very soon.”
