BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Another Bellingham Sears store is closing.
The Sears Hometown and Outlet Store will shut down at the end of the month.
The store was remodeled earlier this year and it started selling Ashley Furniture, that’s why employees are surprised by the decision.
“We were pretty shocked by it. It wasn’t anything that any of us had seen coming.”
Employee Brady Norman says they were told the lease was too expensive for the store to be profitable.
This is the second time in four years a local Sears store has closed for good.
The department store at Bellis Fair mall shut down in 2013.
