SEATTLE, Wash. — Chalk it up as another victory for Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s team and their mission to locate sunken warships in the South Pacific with the discovery of the USS Helena nearly 75 years after it was sunk by Japanese torpedoes.

A spokeswoman for Allen’s Vulcan Inc. says these discoveries allow them to make history relevant again and to honor those that have and are serving.

The USS Helena was found March 23rd, making it the third WWII discovery in as many weeks, with the USS Lexington spotted March 4 and the USS Juneau located March 17.
