BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Now that some outdoor recreation restrictions have been lifted, mandatory boat inspections for aquatic invasive species have resumed.
While changes to the inspection program are being pilot tested, all boats must use the Bloedel Donovan inspection station for their required annual inspections prior to launching in Lake Whatcom or Lake Samish.
Inspections at Bloedel Donovan run daily from 9am to 5pm while inspection stations at Sudden Valley, South Bay and Lake Samish will remain closed.
New protocols have been put into place for the safety of boaters and inspection staff, including a requirement that permits must be purchased online.
