COLOMBIA RIVER, Wash (AP) – The Army of Corps of Engineers will continue to kill cormorant sea birds.

They eat up to 11,000,000 juvenile salmon a year, so they have a big impact on the Columbia River’s salmon population.

The Daily News reports the Corps expects to kill about 2,400 birds and spray about 4,000 nests with vegetable oil, which will prevent eggs from hatching.
