OLYMPIA, Wash. — A new study on fatal drug-impaired crashes in Washington breaks down when and where they’re worst.

The Davis Law Group in Seattle looked at data from around the state between January 2015 and September 2018 and found that Whatcom County had 99 drug-impaired crashes, 4 of which were fatal.

During that time Washington had 2,592 fatal car crashes and more than 4.44% involved a drugged driver.

The majority of these crashes were over the weekend and caused by male drivers.

Compared to all 39 counties, Whatcom County is roughly in the middle and close to the state average.
