BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada – Another murder hornet has been found – this time, across the border.
Washington’s Department of Agriculture wrote on Twitter that British Columbia officials recently found an Asian giant hornet in a beetle trap.
That trap was placed relatively close to areas where other Asian giant hornets were found in Blaine earlier this year.
The Department of Agriculture added that they will be analyzing the hornet to determine if it came from a US or Canadian nest.
British Columbia authorities recently found an #AsianGiantHornet in a Japanese beetle trap not far from where nests were eradicated in Washington. The location was well within the flight distance from the US nests. (1 of 2) pic.twitter.com/G5v5aXS6Ey
